Our relaxed informal art courses are perfect for individuals or groups who would like to learn watercolour, mixed media, oil or acrylic painting.
We offer courses for beginners, improvers and more expeienced paineters who would like to improve their techniques, as well as learn new ones.
day workshops
Run only in the UK over two weekends at the end of July, we offer a taste of our residential courses on our one day tutorial workshops. With a choice of tutors you can choose your media for the day.
Our tutors offer workshops focusing on watercolour, acrylic, mxed media or oils.
The day includes coffee & tea, morning biscuits and afternoon cake, as well as a delicious buffet lunch.
Some materials are provided for students. However it is advisable to bring yoour own paints, brushes and paper.
3 night midweek courses
We realise not everyone can get away for more than a few days or during the weekends, so we offer a quick three night fully catered midweek residential art course that won't interfere with other commitments you may have.
Run only in the UK, these courses start on a monday morning and include a full day of tutorial, followed by two days of sketching and paintings either in the grounds or out and about in the locality.
4 night weekend courses
Our fully catered weekend art courses start on a thursday afternoon and finish on a monday morning after breakfast.
Which gives you three full days of one to one tuition.
The weekend courses include one full day of off-site sketching/painting. UK courses include two full tutorial days. In france either two mornings or two afternoons of off-site sketching/painting with transport are included.
5 night midweek courses
Not everyone can get away for a weekend so we offer a midweek monday-saturday course in France which are excellent value for money.
Fully catered with airport transfers and transport included, this five night course includes four days of off-site sketching/painting enjoying the wonderfull alpine scenery.
7 night residential courses
If you can spare the time we offer a seven night fully catered course from thursday to thursday.
Our weekly courses include at least three full day of off-site sketching/painting. UK courses also include three full tutorial days. French courses include two mornings/afternoons of dedicated tutorial sessions.

We aim to provide a high standard of personal service at ARTCHALET which is often neglected in other art holidays.
We organise and oversee all the cleaning, catering and transport that are needed during your course. If you have any food allergies or specific dietary requirements we can adjust the menus. Or if you have any sleeping, mobility issues these can be accommodated.
