La Clusaz painting weekends

Our relaxing informal watercolour weekends are perfect for individuals or groups who would like to learn watercolour painting or who would like to improve their techniques, as well as learn new ones.

One of the most important aspects of watercolour painting is colour mixing. Our courses offer tuition in colour appreciation, watercolour techniques, tone and hue and much more. They also involve painting outside - en plein air - to capture the true beauty of the scenery!

Originally, from York, Sue is now based in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Stokesley which acts as an ideal base to explore the rich landscapes and coasts of the north of England.

Her love and interest in painting and drawing began in early childhood and developed further whilst studying at Middlesbrough college of Art. One of the most memorable moments from my early career as an artist came in 1977 when she was declared the North East winner for portraiture in a national TV Programme, 'Painting along with Nancy Kominsky'.

She is a member of a number of art societies and groups, as well as being the programme secretary of the popular Leven Arts Society. Sue regularly exhibit both at local and national exhibitions, and was recently included as part of a national exhibition by the National Society of Women Artists (NSWA) at the Westminster Gallery Central Hall in London. She is a fully qualified further education art teacher and takes regular classes at Nunthorpe Further Education centre as well as running her own courses.
